Yellow-vented Bulbul

Mijn vriend Mike a.k.a. the man from the other side.
Stuurde me afgelopen week een paar foto's van een in zijn tuin nestelende vogel.
Het is de ''Yellow-vented Bulbul''. Een zeer normale verschijning in zijn tuin.
Het leek me leuk jullie kennis te laten maken, met deze voor ons toch zeer bijzondere gevederde vriend.

Difference in Time

My friend Mike (a.k.a The man from the other Side) who lives in Korat Thailand, just mailed me ''Hey Henkie, still 2 hours and 30 minutes to go''
I answered, ''for us 6 hours more in 2009''.
We will wait and see what will happen in 2010!!

P.s. Difference in Time in ''wintertime'' is 6 hours!!

The garden from the other side of the world

My friend Mike in Thailand installed a webcam in his garden, so we can see the orchids and all the other great plants and flowers in the local heat!!

Mijn vriend Mike in Thailand installeerde een webcam in zijn tuin, we kunnen dus nu alle in de wind wuivende orchideen en andere planten en bloemen in de Thaise hitte zien. Kijk gerust een keertje want dat zou hij erg leuk vinden vertelde hij me.
Het tijdsverschil tussen Nederland en Thailand is 5 uur, dus 5 uur 's morgens in Nederland in 10 uur in de morgen in Thailand!!

Road trip to..........Laos

My friend from the other side told me some weeks ago about his next holiday.
His wife planned a road trip of a week through their neighbour country Laos. Mike was the driver and his wife Pat ''the perfect-co-pilot and navigator''. They were in South Central Laos including the Mahaxai caves, Kong Lor Cave, Savannakhet, Tha Khek and Vientiane.
