Manta Rays in Hin Muang filmed by Michael Newman

Mijn goede vriend Michael Newman in Thailand maakte half maart (vorige week dus!!) een duik trip in de zee bij Hin Muang en ''ving'' daar met zijn camera een Manta Ray. Het is een geweldig schouwspel om dit te zien en te beleven.
Mij krijg je trouwens voor geen goud naar beneden, maar het is en blijft een prachtig gezicht

Duik avontuur in de Golf van Thailand

Mijn grote vriend Mike Newman in Thailand maakte weer een duik trip en jullie kunnen allemaal weer mee genieten van zijn prachtige foto's en commentaren, kijk zeker even naar de video die hij toevoegde (even op de link klikken en het videootje even opstarten/aanschuiven. Veel plezier!!

Another dive trip to Koh Krah and Losin. Sadly, foul weather forced us to cut the cruise short by one day. So, only one day of diving at Losin. Still, lots to see and lots of fun.

I took a bus from Korat to Bangkok flew from Don Mueang Airport to Surat Thani. 

From Surat Thani airport it was a bus to Don Sak pier.

The weather looked grim.

The normal "high speed catamaran" ferry had broken down, so we got this one instead.

The sunset at Don Sak was spectacular.

Finally made it to the MV Scuba Explorer. My cabin.

The beach at Koh Krah. We dove here for one day, and then it was on to Losin.

This is a short (two minute) video I made of diving at Losin.

Dive logbook, Japanese style (by Naoko). We only dove Losin for one day and then had to leave because of foul weather and high seas.

From Losin we went to Songkhla. This is a car ferry across Songkhla harbor. I took the ferry to, Hua Khao, a small fishing village across from the main part of town.

Caramelized sugar factory. The sugar is heated here over a wood fire.

After it has cooled these women weigh it and put it in bags. It is used for making desserts.

I look forward to diving Losin again next June or July.

Dat Hanneke wel degelijk een ''leuke'' foto kan maken blijkt wel uit haar foto reportage van mijn ''Waddenzee duik'' Volgens velen is het goed te zien dat ik inmiddels 17 kilo aan gewicht kwijt ben (nu al 3 maanden!!)

Mijn grote vriend Mike Newman uit Thailand heeft een hobby en wat voor een hobby!! Hij gaat heel graag duiken,

Andaman Diving - March 2013

Another Andaman Sea dive trip with the wonderful vessel, MV White Manta.

First stop is Phuket to wait for transport to the boat.

I like to stay in Patong at the Tropica Bungalow hotel. It's right on the beach and just around the corner from amazing Bangla road.

But Tropica is an oasis of calm in the madness that Patong has become. It's an older hotel, but has been kept up well.

The garden and pool are very pleasant.

The entrance drive is walled with ancient style fired bricks. At the end, to the right, is the ocean.

Yes, Phuket has a brew pub: Full Moon Brew Work. This is their dark ale with a spicy Thai beef salad. The pub is located in the Jung Ceylon shopping center in Patong.

The White Manta is a great dive boat. the cabins are spacious and well laid out.
