Hi Henk,
Yes, Korat is suffering from some very serious flooding. We are fine. Our house is away from the river and not really prone to flooding. But some places are under a couple of meters of water. Most schools are closed because students and teachers cannot get in. Aid and rescue operations my the military and civic groups are under way all over the place.
When I took the bus from Bangkok to Korat on Tuesday one half of the highway was closed due to flooding.
I took some photos of the flooding near the river by our house. This is about a kilometer north of us,
Mike

This road is usually dry. It leads through some coconut palm fields through rice fields to the Lam Takhon River
Here the river has overflowed the banks. Good time to wash the motorbike!
This house is under about two meters of water
Fishing on the road

Henk,
These photos were taken about one kilometer from my house. The Lam Takhong River has overflowed its banks and is flooding farm and residential areas on both side.
Mike
These monks are walking on a concrete road which is being covered by the rapidly expanding and rising Lam Takhong River
This family is camped out on a bridge over an irrigation canal. Note the kitchen. There home is in the direction the truck is facing, but their driveway and home are under a yard of water.
